EVALUATION QUESTION 3

What have you learned from your audience feedback?

Throughout my course work I was always receiving feedback whether that was through verbal conversations or written feedback. This always helped me in directing my work in a professional direction and receiving someone else's opinion on my work is always a great way to think outside the box and create something new and innovative. As you can see from the video below I took my feedback very seriously and had people watch my trailer and comment on tape. I then created an action plan for my trailer and then repeated this until there was little left to change and the opinions were down to the creative liking of the individual.

When it came to my final cut I received feedback in a variety of ways and these all helped me know if I had reached my desired goal of making a professional trailer. My first way of receiving feedback was a written response which had some positives and negatives. The negatives were comments such as the opening page was the American version not the British one. However I received plenty of positive feedback on the opening logos and suspense brought about by the music. I used this feedback to edit my trailer to make it more professional.

Another way I received feedback was through Facebook. Facebook allowed me to easily get responses from friends and family. Currently it has reached 111 views on Facebook so it shows how easy it was to spread the content around. The feedback I received was for one purpose, to make sure I had fulfilled my goal. This feedback was vital in evaluating the success of my trailer. This got me thinking and to be able to definitely say if I have completed my goal I needed quantifiable data to say so.

I made a questionnaire which can be seen in the link to the left. I used this as a way to see if my trailer, website and poster had reached their desired effects and looked professional in the way that they work together. There was a lot of success when it came to the comments that the questionnaires produced. Everyone said that the trailer look professional enough to aired on TV and also had “effective music” to create suspense.

At the end of the questionnaire I asked the people to rate my trailer, poster and website out of 10 so that I could get some quantifiable data for the project. I was happy to say that everyone came back with rating of  9 or a 10. I believe this data shows that my project has been a success and I have met my brief, by producing a promo trailer for an up coming film.
