TARGET AUDIENCE  

 

The horror genre is one that is enjoyed by many. There are several different types of people that enjoy watching horror films so therefore it is quite hard to pinpoint a specific group of people that enjoy watching them. To start research into my target audience I hosted online interviews with my friends of which some watch horror and some don’t. This research was interesting and proved to myself that people who watch horror movies can go and watch them for several different reasons. Some people want to have the adrenaline kick that horror movies give along with the sitting on the edge of your seat feeling, others will go for the scared factor and some will go for the humour that horror movies give. A lot of the people linked the horror movie to the same feeling as a roller coaster gives which is an interesting parallel as they both play on the same fight or flight emotions.  This gives the target audience that are thrill seekers and always looking for the next adrenaline kick that horror movies provides.
